Many people have asked at our events... “it is so wonderful – how have you done this”….?
We think its quite simple – its passion, enthusiasm, commitment, belief and the will to get things right.
With this in mind we thought it apt to open up Outside and let you have a look at Outside from the Inside.
Heathcotes Outside is the parent to Heathcotes Outside Events, Heathcotes @ Deepdale; Heathcotes @ Warrington Wolves, and Heathcotes ACC Liverpool.
It is headed by Gary Bates MD; Gary has been Managing Director for Heathcotes Outside since its inception in 1997. An accomplished, award winning chef, Gary has worked at some of the country’s leading establishments from Executive Chef at the Dalmahoy Hotel in Edinburgh to the Sharrow Bay Hotel in Ullswater. Gary is a firm believer in attention to detail ensuring that the client of an Outside event enjoys restaurant quality food be it a dinner party for 10 or an Awards Dinner for 1000.

David Cura Executive Operations Manager
David's career within the hospitality industry began within the Old Course Hotel at St. Andrews. With a thorough pedigree in beverage service and management within a 5 star venue, David's standards are extremely high. David Cura's main area of focus is financial management, reporting requirements, IT, service standards, service related requirements and client liaison.Andy Wardle Executive Chef.
As Group Executive Chef for Heathcotes Outside Andy is highly respected throughout the industry. His knowledge and enthusiasm in all aspects of the business have helped turn the company into a market leader. Andy has worked at numerous locations throughout the UK perfecting his skills and knowledge of British produce. Andy has been instrumental in setting up the prestigious kitchen operations at our venues and his remit also includes management of the kitchen operations at the City of Manchester stadium. His flair and passion is driven by the products he uses and various people he has worked with both previously and presently.In the old days when we first started, Gary could be found chopping onions, David was carrying plates and Lesley was answering the phones! … and nothing much has changed. Gary can be found hovering in the kitchens at any of our sites, marquees or venues David (otherwise known as DC) can be found sitting in on service briefs or watching services from the side of the room and Lesley is still answering those phones….. Andy, who joined in 1999 can still be found running the pass at many of our events!
The Exec Team meets once a week with Gary to review each site and discuss where we are all up to, areas of improvement and potential opportunities. Although our post and our desks are at Preston North End the team spends the majority of the week on the road visiting all our venues and our clients.
