Phil Dougherty - General Manager

Phil's wealth of experience brings the whole team at Chester racecourse together. He has many, many years of experience in the luxury Hotel trade and his extensive knowledge of wine is awesome. Having worked at such prestigious locations as Gleneagles and The Chester Grosvenor Hotel, Phil's expectations of his team and the standards he sets are the benchmark for the quality of customer service at the Racecourse. Married with four children, Phil still finds time to play sports in his spare time and is an avid supporter of Everton Football Club.

David Taylor – Business Office Manager

David has worked in the UK and Europe in 5 star hotels since he was 18, returning to Britain in 1997 he attained a Business Degree with honours from Huddersfield University. After 3 years at the 5 star Chester Grosvenor and Spa Hotel, where he worked as their event coordinator, he took over as Heathcote's Business Office Manager at Chester Racecourse. David has been married to his Finnish wife for 3 years and recently became a father with a young son. David is an avid supporter of Chester City.

Liz is the newest member of the Office team and enjoys the challenge of organising larger events. Married with 3 children.

Rik Slater- Head Chef

Rik joined Heathcotes at Chester from Heathcotes at Warrington Wolves in June 2007.  He had previously been with the company at Preston North End Football Club.  He is vastly experienced, working as a consultant for a number of prestigious clients including 5 years Stockport County Football Club at Edgeley park helping set-up their facilities.  He was previously Executive Chef at Weetwood Hall for 3 years.  He studied at the highly renowned High Peak College ion Buxton which included a final year at Le Touquet in Southern France.  Married with 4 children, Rik enjoys golf, football and helping out celebrity chefs at charity events in his spare time which has unfortunately become less over the years due to the size of the operation at Chester and Bangor-on-Dee racecourse.

Mark Wilcockson - Personnel Manager

Mark is quite young for a Human Resource manager at 26, but has developed an excellent rapport with staff and agencies alike over the years.  He has a very strong human resource background spending many years with Letherby and Christopher before joining the Heathcotes team in January 2005.  He is responsible for over 1200 staff and their welfare on racedays and oversees many other venues within the Heathcotes company supplying staff from Chester.  He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Chester and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse site personnel, which is a huge task coordinating students and casual staff alike.  He is recently engaged to his fiancé Laura and his interests include football and traveling throughout Europe.
